By this conveyance George Africanus purchased property in Chandlers Lane and Bluchers Yard from Abraham Hardy for £380. In those days £380 was a lot of money. The purchase price was known as the 'consideration'. 'Messuages' was a word used to described houses or cottages with their related land.
