Daltransugol’s environmental management system receives certificate of compliance with international standards 14001


In 2020 – 2021, JSC Bureau Veritas Certification Rus, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, audited the port of Daltransugol for compliance with international environmental regulations. On July 1, 2021, the company received a certificate of compliance with ISO 14001: 2015 environmental management systems.

Daltransugol’s strategic objective is to be able to achieve high performance levels with minimal impact on the environment. To this end, the company introduces various environmental measures, with an emphasis on preventive actions aimed at avoiding ecological effects that can have a negative impact on humans and the environment.

An environmental management system (EMS) is a set of internal rules of an organization that describe how the company identifies, assesses, monitors and manages its activities related to the environment. The system helps prevent negative impacts.

The decision taken in Daltransugol to initiate a full corporate EMS audit also shows its concern for the environment, which is not only an intention, but also confirmed by an independent official document.

The ISO 14001 certificate is a document issued by accredited certification bodies, confirming the compliance of corporate environmental management systems with the main criteria and requirements of the international standards in force ISO 14001: 2015.

The issued certificate confirms that Daltransugol complies with Russian and international requirements in the field of cargo (coal) transshipment in seaports in terms of the ability to control production risk factors.

Daltransugol takes responsibility for the implementation of environmental policy, the introduction and continuous improvement of an environmental management system to improve performance in accordance with environmental legislation.

In its activities, Daltransugol is committed to scrupulously respect the legal requirements and standards in the field of ecology, while the management and control of the environment have been and remain the priority areas of the company’s operations.

“ISO certification is not a prerequisite for our operation, but the introduction of international standards allows us to improve our environmental management system, increase its efficiency, take into account environmental issues to as they develop, reduce environmental risks and improve environmental safety, ”said Irina Egorova, head of industrial safety and environmental control at Daltransugol.
