An environmental management company with offices in Inverness and Carlisle has been acquired by a similar company headquartered in Glasgow.
All Nevis Environmental staff will transfer to Mabbett and Associates.
Mabbett said this is another step in his strategic growth journey.
The acquisition of the independent ecology, environmental management and planning services consultancy will strengthen Mabbett’s technical team and skills and provide environmental management support for infrastructure projects.
The move is seen as an enhancement to Mabbett’s technical services in the areas of natural capital and land management, climate change and carbon, peatland services, ecology and environmental studies, planning and development, environmental and operational monitoring of construction and servicing of assets.
The company said it is on a growth trajectory and expects to add additional talent in the future.
Mabbet said All Nevis staff retain their old titles and hope to increase the footprint of the office in coming years.
As part of the acquisition, Kathryn Fraser (former MD at Nevis) is appointed director of the ecology and environment group.
It follows Mabbett’s deal to buy Inverness-based design and planning specialist GH Johnston Building Consultants last month.
Mabbett Managing Director Derek McNab said: “Mabbett has respected the strength of Nevis Environmental’s technical team over the past few years with their strong profile and long-established reputation for providing advice on ecology and quality planning.
“Their values and team attributes make them an excellent fit for Mabbett and we look forward to integrating and working together for our mutual benefit in the years to come.”
Kathryn Fraser, Director of
Nevis Environmental said, “Joining Mabbett is a great opportunity to expand our technical service offering and improve our geographic coverage. I look forward to enhancing the personal, first-class service offerings for which we are renowned and seizing the new opportunities the agreement will bring.
Another acquisition announcement is expected soon.
