SJM’s properties go dark for World Environment Day


Macau dealership Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, SA has launched a range of activities to celebrate World Environment Day 2021, including turning off all non-essential exterior and interior lights at its Macau hotels and resorts during one hour on Monday June 7.

All SJM properties, including Lisboa Hotel and Grand Lisboa, have turned off their decorative lights, exterior LED screens and non-essential interior lights for an hour to raise awareness of global warming and promote the importance of reducing energy use. Guests of hotel rooms were also invited to join the lighting event, SJM said, while many employees turned off non-essential lights and electronics in the home.

SJM will continue to support World Environment Day 2021 by urging its frontline and office workers to wear less formal clothing during the summer, as the company aims to reduce the energy consumption of air conditioners by setting temperatures office temperature not lower than 25 ° C.
