New Delhi: The Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has supported the environmental motto in its Satya Bharti schools. Nearly 40,000 students from 183 Satya Bharti schools in rural India celebrated World Environment Day 2021 by participating in activities such as painting, essay writing and speech contests through online medium while being safe at home.

Several themes were given to children to inspire their imagination, such as water conservation, planting trees, saying no to plastic, saving planet earth, environmental pollution and many more. The students made beautiful paintings, wrote essays and also shared audio recordings of speeches with their teachers through WhatsApp groups created by their parents and teachers.

During nationwide restrictions and with the ongoing pandemic, Satya Bharti schools are ensuring that students are engaged in various activities, teachers are going the extra mile to maintain education through online learning. Nearly 1000 WhatsApp groups per class are functional and have been created in the last year. Class-specific reading material, video links, assignments and contests keep our students engaged.
